1. Eligibility
Secret Door Society is an adults-only private members' club. By submitting an inquiry or attending an event, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. Membership is granted at the sole discretion of the society and may be declined without explanation.
2. Membership
Membership in the Secret Door Society is a privilege, not a right. It is granted through a personal intake process and may be revoked at any time for breach of these terms or the code of conduct.
- Membership is non-transferable and for personal use only.
- Members must complete identity verification before attending any event.
- Membership tiers and associated benefits are as described on the Membership page and may be updated from time to time.
- Members may pause or cancel their membership at any time through the member portal.
3. Code of Conduct
All members and guests are bound by our code of conduct, which includes but is not limited to:
- Consent: All interactions must be based on enthusiastic, ongoing, and clearly communicated consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
- Discretion: Member identities, event locations, and event details must never be disclosed to non-members or shared publicly.
- No recording: Photography, videography, audio recording, and screen capture of any kind are strictly prohibited at all events and within all society communications.
- Respectful conduct: Harassment, intimidation, boundary-pushing, entitlement, and any form of misconduct are grounds for immediate removal.
- Responsible consumption: Intoxication beyond responsible limits is not permitted. Members who are assessed as impaired will be asked to leave.
4. Zero Tolerance
The society operates a strict zero-tolerance policy. Any violation of the code of conduct—including but not limited to boundary violations, harassment, recording, or identity disclosure—will result in immediate removal from the event and permanent revocation of membership. There are no warnings, no second chances, and no appeals for serious violations.
5. Events
- Event details, including venue locations, are confidential and shared only with approved attendees within 24 hours of the event.
- The society reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify events at any time.
- Guest lists are curated at the discretion of the host team. RSVP does not guarantee attendance if capacity or balance considerations apply.
- Members attend events at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety and conduct.
6. Fees & Payments
- Membership fees are billed monthly at the rate corresponding to your selected tier.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
- The society reserves the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice to members.
- Failure to maintain current payment may result in suspension of membership benefits.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website—including text, design, logos, and imagery—is the property of Secret Door Society and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without written permission. The Secret Door Society name, logo, and brand identity are proprietary.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Secret Door Society and its organisers, hosts, and staff shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your membership, attendance at events, or use of this website. This includes but is not limited to personal injury, loss of property, or emotional distress.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Secret Door Society, its organisers, hosts, and staff from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your breach of these terms, your conduct at events, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
10. Termination
The society may terminate or suspend your membership at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your access to events, the member portal, and all society communications will be revoked. Any fees paid for the current billing period are non-refundable upon termination for cause.
11. Amendments
These terms may be updated from time to time. Members will be notified of material changes through the member portal or direct communication. Continued membership after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
